Upholstered entirely in silky smooth vintage-style velvet, the Montgomery 3-seater sofa is a comfortable and luxurious place to either snuggle up with loved ones or stretch out in solitude. Characterised by scroll-top arms, Chesterfield-inspired deep tufted detailing and turned oak feet, this sofa is eye-catching yet versatile and will look at home in a variety of interior schemes. A matching 2-seater sofa, armchair and footstool are also available.

For a smooth delivery, this sofa has been designed to have some home assembly. Full instructions are supplied.

We have three delivery options to choose from, including Basic, Standard and Premium, each offering different features depending on your needs. Due to their weight and size, our sofas are only available with our Premium delivery option. You can find our terms and conditions here. Will It Fit?

Choosing the right size furniture for your room makes all the difference. The right proportions make a room look comfortable. They make your room work.

Think about the room where your new sofa will be living. Will you want to have side tables at each end? Or will you want a coffee table in front? Check you can fit what you want comfortably by looking at the sofa measurements. They are within the Dimensions & Assembly section. Jot them down, and get busy with your tape measure.

Materials & Care

Our fabric Montgomery sofa range is upholstered entirely in heritage velvet. This beautiful material has a smooth, soft feel and a vintage-style finish with subtle yet characterful variations in colour saturation. We use polyester in our fabric upholstery for its durability and versatility.

Material construction:

Frame: The frame features solid hardwood and comes with a lifetime guarantee. Joints are strongly fixed using classic carpentry skills, so you can relax and enjoy the support and comfort of a well-made piece of furniture.

Seat base: Serpentine springs distribute weight evenly and prevent sagging. Foam protects these springs and keeps them in place.

Seat cushion: A foam core is wrapped in soft polyester fibres, resulting in a comfortable yet firm fixed seat cushion.

Back support: Foam padding provides a resilient base.

Back cushion: Fluffy polyester fibres surround a foam core, resulting in high-quality back support.

Feet: Turned solid oak.

Fabric

We choose our upholstery materials to look good, feel good, and to last. We make sofas for real homes where real life happens. Sofas for all sizes of home, all kinds of interior, and for all kinds of families.

Keep fabric upholstery looking good with regular vacuuming and dusting. Give real wood legs a polish. We stock a fabric care kit, with specialist products for general cleaning, and for old or resistant marks.

Velvet upholstery

Velvet sofa and chairs should be gently vacuumed and dusted. In the event of stains or accidental spills, we recommend you seek specialist advice for any velvet upholstery.

Sunlight

Sunlight can cause upholstery to fade. If your sofa is placed in a sunny part of the room, maybe draw the curtains at the sunniest times of day, or have a colourfast throw to shield the sofa from the strongest sunlight.

Sofas start with the frame. All of our sofa frames come with a lifetime guarantee, as we incorporate hardwood into every one and fix all joints with classic carpentry skills to prevent creaking.

Seat base. Serpentine springs spread the load of seat cushions. We use more than most manufacturers, giving a stronger base for support.

Seat cushions. Foam and fibre fillings are used in different ways across our ranges. Choose from styles with firmer comfort or cushions that are luxuriously soft.

Back cushions. Our sofas come in different styles. Tensioned webbing and superloop back springs support classic high back looks and pillow back cushions alike, fibre-filled for sink-in comfort.

Scatter cushions. Most of our sofas come with feather or fibre-filled scatter cushions. Made to match particular sofa ranges, they add that extra bit of comfort.

I don't normally do reviews but I've had such a good experience with OFL Reading, that I felt I should! These sofas are gorgeous - I bought a three seater and a two seater! I love the colour and the style and even better there are no separate cushions for people (or food) to fall down between cushions....They are quite firm and well sprung, but I like that. The seat is quite deep, so good for people with long legs - I'm only five foot three, so mine dangle...but usually I'm curled up on them, as there is plenty of room to cosy up, without falling between separate cushions! I only ever give top marks of 4 for Value for Money if the company will not allow me to 'haggle'... OFL at Reading were fantastic from beginning to end. Jimmy had all of the info to hand and between Jimmy, Pav and Andrew (by phone) answered all of my many questions and were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional (I had, had a very bad experience with a major online company so was very nervous about how this was going to go), but I couldn't fault any of OFL staff at all! Tiffany on Customer Service was also lovely and very helpful when we had a family crisis on delivery day and the Delivery Drivers from Wiltshire were amazing and everything was very well packed! Thank you all very, very much! I highly recommend you!
